Pebble 2.0 software and app store now available for Android

Pebble announced today at SXSW 2014 that it has updated its android software at 2.0,making its aoo store available on google play. The update given users access to Pebble apps and watch faces enables the viewing of old notifications, and allows apps to be downloaded to the "locker". Pebble still only allows eight third-party apps on its watch at one time, so the locker stores all the downloaded software, making it easier to switch out apps as neeeded.

Pebble also announced a few apps : eBay, Evernote, and Time Warner Cable. The eBay app will let users browse feeds of new products, but the images suffer from the watch's small, black and white screen. Evernote's app could have a lot of potential , letting users check lists, notebooks, and reminders from their wrists. Time Warner Cable's app is strictly for its smart home services, turning the watch into a remote for your house.
This update brings android up to speed fairly quickly, just about a month after the service quickly, just about a month after the service launched on iOS. And for android users, the timing is especially convenient : the first batches of the company's new pebble steel model have been shipping to customers in recent weeks.
